PORTFOLIO
Hounds & Hops
In 2023, I partnered with animal expert and media personality Jarod Miller to co-found Hounds & Hops: an experiential pet care business located in Buffalo’s Seneca One Tower. We saw a gap in the market for high-end, community-oriented dog services in the urban core and created a brand that blends concierge grooming, indoor dog parks, craft beverages, and social events for dogs and their humans. The multi-phase concept is already making waves, with future plans for daycare, training, and boarding. We are currently preparing to open our second location. Hounds & Hops is a perfect example of what happens when you combine thoughtful concept design, real operational know-how, and a growing market.
Amazon DSP (Logistics Partner)
As part of Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program, I built and led a last-mile logistics company servicing the Buffalo, NY region. Managing the hiring, operations, and financial oversight, I helped launch and scale a team that met the strict KPIs and rapid growth requirements of Amazon’s high-performance logistics engine. Building and running this business taught me every possible lesson in operational efficiency, leadership under pressure, and scalable systems, which I have carried into every logistics-driven business I have worked with since.
ACV Auctions (Contract Finance Consultant)
During a period of rapid scale at ACV Auctions, I worked with the transportation team to streamline operational logistics and build a national vehicle storage network to support wholesale vehicle transactions. I also advised on due diligence for potential acquisitions, helping align strategic targets with the company’s aggressive growth model.
Will Foods (formerly Will Poultry)
In 2013, I co-led the acquisition of Will Poultry, an 88-year-old wholesale food distributor in Buffalo, NY. The business was deeply rooted in tradition, but it lacked modern infrastructure and operational efficiency. Over the next four years, I spearheaded a $1M+ transformation of the entire business, overhauling logistics, implementing a new warehouse management system, optimizing delivery routes, upgrading equipment, and modernizing technology across all departments.
We rebranded as Will Foods, expanded our product offerings, and introduced a performance-driven culture, positioning the company for long-term growth in a competitive industry. It was a full-scale turnaround from legacy operation to streamlined regional player.
Strategic Advisory Work
Beyond the businesses I’ve built or acquired, I’ve advised companies across industries on capital strategy, financial modeling, and operational structure. I served as a financial advisor to Paula Deen Foods, consulted for Planet Wealth (a blockchain/fintech platform helping retail investors access real estate deals), and worked with several early-stage founders in fitness, real estate, and consumer products. While the industries vary, my focus is always the same: build sustainable business models, clarify strategy, and align teams around desired outcomes.
Turning Point Capital
Turning Point was my first startup. It was a financial services business I co-founded and scaled from scratch. Over three years, I built a strong team, refined our strategy, and grew our client base nationally. By designing efficient workflows and leading with client-focused operations, we positioned ourselves for a successful strategic sale to Greystone Alliance. I led the deal, negotiated the transition, and helped integrate our staff and systems post-acquisition. It was an end-to-end success, from launch to exit, built entirely through execution and relationship-driven growth.
